The port of call on day 3 of the Royal Caribbean Mediterranean cruise is Sicily.
The port is located in a town called Siracusa. We decided not to take a tour here and instead explore the port town on foot.
Let’s try the famous Sicilian pastry, cannoli!
Let’s take a stroll around the city of Syracuse! After disembarking from the cruise ship and walking a bit, you’ll come across some interesting buildings with a unique atmosphere, though you’re not quite sure what they are yet.
By the way, have you heard of cannoli? It’s a pastry with a crispy shell filled with ricotta cheese cream. Apparently, it’s a famous sweet from Sicily, and I really wanted to try it, so I started looking for a shop that sells it.
We stopped by a bakery called Pasticceria Artale. I chose a pistachio cannoli. After ordering, they filled it with fresh cream.
It was so delicious! The lightness of it made me want to eat more. The subtle sweetness of the cream and the crunchy pastry complement each other perfectly. It was so good that I bought more on the way back. It tastes even better when paired with Italian coffee.
The streets of Syracuse
When viewed up close, you can see that the water is clear and transparent. I imagine that if it had been sunnier, the water would have looked a beautiful shade of blue.
The charming, old-fashioned streets were also wonderful and added to the atmosphere. Just walking around and exploring was more than enough to enjoy the place. You don’t need to book an expensive tour at all!
Lunch is in ORTIGIA FISH BAR
In Sicily, we made a reservation at ORTIGIA FISH BAR, a restaurant known for its delicious seafood. The interior of the restaurant was really cute, and it had a great atmosphere. (Sorry, I don’t have any photos of the inside.)
The seafood in Sicily is truly fresh. The calamari (fried squid) and the fish dish (I don’t know the name of it…) were absolutely delicious. If you’re ever in Siracusa, you definitely have to try them!
The waiter recommended the crab pasta, which was freshly caught that day. It was incredibly delicious!
After returning from sightseeing, it’s time for a delicious dinner 🍷🌙✨
For today’s dinner on day 3, I ordered the prime rib. Look at this perfect medium-rare! Even though it was so big, I finished it all. The panna cotta for dessert was also delicious! Ahh, pure happiness!
